I have no erection and psychiatrist said "it doesn't matter"

when risperdal made me impotent I became suicidal for a couple years…it’s important…I’m on fluphenazine, generic prolixin and there are no side effects…i don’t think it’s covering voices though so it might not be for you.

I hate psychiatrists when they make decisions about whether something is a benefit worth the risk when they only see you for 10 mins every 6 months.

Their opinions can go ■■■■ themselves as far as I am concerned.

It’s just churning through patients to save money

It’s a horrible feeling to feel and be castrated. That’s how I felt on high dosages of APs like Risperdal. Caplyta helped a ton but I feel better on Vraylar. There’s things you can do like reducing or quitting smoking and exercising probably. I need to do some things myself.

I don’t understand the big deal about not being able to achieve an erection.

Like, when I first started AP I was a little alarmed. Perhaps I would have made a post about it online… idk…

But you get used to it.

its important for me,like aziz said not high on my list,i cant feel lots of pleasure anyway.

Yea my mental health is more important than my ding dong. Risperdal is the only med that really worked for me without any serious side effects.

Back when I was on haldol and I told my psychiatrist I had no sex drive she told me it didn’t matter because I have no boyfriend.

I’m on Risperdal Consta and because of it I have no sex drive and I’m not orgasmic but it doesn’t matter because the Church doesn’t allow my wife and I to have sex anyway.

In addition, my wife is on Abilify and she says she doesn’t want sex either.

but you are married why doesnt church allow you to have sex with your wife.she is your wife.i get your point though i have no sex drive either.

I also had this problem when I was on Risperdal. I told my doctor that a 25 years old guy should not be impotent - so I had a medication change to Zypadheral and since then - I got me sexuality back. It’s totally normal that men need to get erections.

My sex drive is winding down. I’ve been on resperidone since about 2004 and I had a moderate sex drive though I had no girlfriend (but a few opportunities). I don’t talk about masturbation usually unless I’m answering someone else’s thread but I was masturbating at least every other day until just maybe two years ago. Now it’s about once a month. I’m 59 and it’s a relief. I’ll still joke about sex but my “friends with benefits” plan is going to take a backseat to other things going on in my life.

I had some dysfunction on risperidone, prolactin was the culprit i was also on escitalopram which numbed down my genitals. Im on haldol and quetiapine and few strokes i can get erections. I would in your place test prolactin and if its nornal then the antidepressants are the culprit

@Nada_de_nada do not give medical advice. You are not his doctor.

Everyone else: excess testosterone weakens the heart and liver. Too much excess testerone just gets converted into estrogen by the body, causing you to grow breasts and damage your genitals. Only take testosterone under the advisment of a doctor.

And low testosterone? Brain fog, osteoporosis, increased triglycerides, low libido, amotivation, low energy, low muscle mass, erectil dysfunction, depression, dry skin, lethargy, etc.

Estrogen doesnt make you grow a breast and neither damages your genitals lol.

It doesn’t damages the liver, im not advocating steroids lol

Low testosterone can ONLY be diagnosed by a doctor. It is an actual lab test, not just listing symptoms. Many things can cause weak erections, and many of those do not affect testosterone levels. Treating yourself for an illness you don’t know you have is dangerous. And yes, testosterone does all of those things. Hang on and I will find sources.

Stop posting illegal and dangerous stuff.
Testosterone injections are illegal.
