I have no erection and psychiatrist said "it doesn't matter"

I told him about my dysfunction and he said “it doesn’t matter, many schizophrenics don’t want sex drive, maybe it’s the antidepressant or the clozapine,we can’t be sure”

Can you get a different psychiatrist?

No, I like him despite his indifference to my dysfunction. He will retire soon, so I will find a new one in a few months

Well, hopefully the next one is more sympathetic

Do you think that a drug like Viagra can help?

I’ve wondered the same thing for myself.

Risperdal gave me ED.

Ashwaghanda helps me. But it might interfere with your meds.

Couple of things which improve erections include.

Vitamin D (especially if you have deficiency)
Zinc " "
Vitamin B12 " "
Optimum amount of thyroid hormones

Apart from these Ashwaghanda herb helps it acts like a mild viagra.

Guys I don’t want viagra or anything similar. I want my natural erection back

Its probably the meds or neg symptoms or even depression. Cigs, alcohol, and lack of proper diet/exercise all contribute to ed. Same thing with masterbation and porn.

Check if you have deficiency in these

Vitamin D, B12
Thyroid hormones.

This itself can cause erection issues. Zinc is another vital mineral and low amounts contribute to weak erections.

I can appreciate it can be depressing. Ive had no erection for years myself - but for me it doesnt bother me. It just not high on my list of priorites anymore.

Theres https://www.numan.com/ thats been advertising in the uk recently.

I think negative symptoms, depression etc won’t create erection issues. It can create low mood but it won’t affect erections in any way. Erection issues is linked to some kind of physical problem. Erection requires proper blood circulation so its worth to check heart function too.

That’s so insensitive and weird thing for the pdoc to say, it clearly matters to you… :frowning:

I don’t care really anymore, its not like I can get a gf anyway. I now lost my sex drive on Risperdal too, last time it took me close to 2 months to do it. Now its been a month and I have no desire. Sometimes I think about doing it but forget it because its not important.

@Om_Sadasiva Try Abilify? I was doing it up to 6 times a day while on 25mg Abilify, it was painful sometimes.

Thats very insensitive, when i had dysfunction due to AD’s, my pdoc added a small dose of Mirtazapine. It helped.

Of course you want to function physically even though you don’t have a girlfriend.

Guys, I need to stress the fact that I don’t want to have sex and probably I won’t have soon, but, but, I wanna be capable of having sex. Imagine the case that I am making out with a woman, and she wants to proceed to sex. If I won’t be capable, I would be embarrassed
