I get so worked up over this situation and would like opinions

This is absolutely part of the anxiety too.

They always tell me a time,

Are late.

Then work anywhere from 30mins to 3 hours.

I realize they can’t give me perfect details and I already try to pry them for specifics,

But not knowing when/how long they’ll be here is a big, big part.

I have tried Buspar and it didn’t help my anxiety.

But I hear it does help a lot of people so I know it’s a good drug.

I don’t want a drug to help my anxiety. I want the causes of my anxiety to stay off my property or at least schedule a time.

I live in an apartment, have for 8 years and generally don’t have any problems, but every time I’m in the hospital I get anxious that I’ll get out and find an eviction notice under my door, it really worried me. I’m a good tenant but I can’t shake the anxiety that they want to find reasons to kick me out. It’s illogical but still worries me.

Thanks for your concern.

I really get paranoid and anxious when people come over to my house, even family members.

I have serious trust and paranoid issues, and the paranoia is something I’ve been noticing more with me.

I wish that I had better advice for you @Charles_Foster other than keep taking your Klonopin

But I can totally relate

I think the best way of not getting kicked out, is to let them keep coming. They get to reassure themselves that you’re good tenants. Plus you get your yard looked after.

You could always take a trip into town while they’re there and leave them to your husband?

I wish I could just leave but the wife always wants to talk to me plus I made her pies.

AND, the dogs would bark their heads off if I weren’t there to keep them calm.

My husband works from home so we can’t have that.

But thank you for the idea.

It is an understandable thing to be nervous over, even if it isn’t necessarily founded in reality for these specific landlords. Other landlords could absolutely do this ■■■■. Your previous ones sold the house from under you without much notice, right? Having to move was a huge stress event in your life.

Yes.

That happened.

He gave us three months,

But my mother in law had just died and we had all her dialysis/hospital stuff so it really wasn’t enough time.

Have you thought about home ownership? Have you compared the two styles of life?

Dude, I live on the coast in California.

I can see the water from my house.

Buying a house here would take almost half a million down.

@FreeLunch , where she lives, it’s EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE to own a home. Literallly impossible for most

Why is that? Can you explain the econ of it?
Like, shouldnt the rent also be extremely high then?

The rent is extremely high.

Which is why we can’t save fast enough for a down payment.

A mortgage would be possibly less than we pay now, but bringing that much money to the table is almost impossible.

Oh ok i get it then.

Oh yes I can understand, every time I have a craftsman (electrician or just my caretaker) in my apartment I feel like it’s an intrusion and I get very anxious. I don’t know what you can do, perhaps go for a walk or go to the library while they are there.
