Wow, is this common or is my living situation crazy?

Do people fuc* with you in your own house? I don’t understand how my neighbors can rationalize this. I’m 61, I know a little bit about life. I mean I have eyes and ears. These people aren’t my friends, they suck. I don’t know what it is but I’m sitting in my own four walls and I think about life and they immediately try to confuse me. They try to make me think I don’t know what I know. WTF? In the first place why are they listening in to my apartment and why are they playing these games? It was better when I used to threaten the neighbors and scare them.

I remember one morning I took a shower at five a.m. and the guy below must have been awakened by the pipes and he pounded on the wall afterwards. What is wrong with taking a shower at dawn? I think everyone is on the edge of losing it in this world.

You sound a little paranoid @77nick77 .

No I don’t have this problem. People other than my landlord aren’t messing with me. My landlord is after me about keeping my apartment clean.

People can be galling. I don’t know how you handle confrontations, but I am too apt to slip out the back door when people are being hostile towards me, and I’ve taken ■■■■ from guys I didn’t need to. Still, I would caution against getting too angry. You’ll give yourself ulcers. If your situation starts to escalate things can get nasty.

I can kind of relate @77nick77.

The place where I live has gotten more “exclusive” as the rents have gone up. Not high enough for true big ballers, but high enough for people with a little money who think their shiit don’t stank, if that makes sense.

I’ve found that many of the newer residents are rude, don’t care about keeping common areas clean (“oh, the cleaning people will do it” attitude), and are just downright stuck up.

They don’t say hello on the elevator or when I’m out walking the boi, look me up and down if I’m wearing sweats in the lobby, and generally have no common courtesy.

A lot of the people that have moved in are young folks, whom I suspect of having their rent paid for by parents. How is somebody 26 years old and driving an Audi? Either that, or they’re medical students who think they’re god’s gift. The attitude here is atrocious and sets my symptoms off ten-fold.

Symptoms like paranoia, extreme anxiety to the point I only go out of my house after peak hours, and extreme suspicion.

I don’t even feel welcome here anymore, and we’ve been living in the same place since 2006– that’s almost 20 years.

We’re locked in at a good deal until September of this year, otherwise there’d be no way we could afford living here now.

People suck @77nick77. There’s some good ones, of course, but if they lack general manners and humility, then that’s gonna be rough goings in my opinion.

@77nick77 you have a long history of believing your neighbors are doing things to mess with you, and a long history of later realizing that they are just living their lives in a building with thin walls.

You live in a supported housing situation, right? In that situation, you are likely to wind up with inconsiderate neighbors who don’t pay attention to noise rules. They are there for the same reason as you.
