I’ve stopped taking Klonopin and haven’t slept very well the last two nights. I reported it to my pdoc’s assistant, and she said sleep was very important. Let her know how I’m doing tomorrow. I’m afraid my pdoc’s is going to want me to take Klonopin again or prescribe sleeping pills. I would rather just let things take their time, and let my brain adjust to sleeping without Klonopin. I’m an alcohol addict and used to drink to go to sleep at night. I could always get some beer and that would put me to sleep, but I don’t because I’m an addict and it would never stop. I don’t want sleeping pills or Klonopin for the same reason. I’m not taking Klonopin and haven’t experienced any anxiety. I’m not diagnosed with an anxiety disorder, so what do I need Klonopin for?
I understand. I’m an alcoholic so I can’t touch booze either. Also I came off benzos for the same reasons as you.
I substituted L-theanine for benzos and it worked out quite well. L-theanine helps schizophrenics sleep better too.
CONCLUSIONS: Our results suggest that L - theanine is effective in ameliorating positive symptoms and sleep quality in schizophrenia .
Try melatonin magnesium and zinc. Take all three at bedtime.
I take just plain ole benedryl at night for sleep and it really helps.
I ordered 200mg L-theanine. Any advice on how much to take?
Start with 200mg before you go to bed then try 400mg if that doesn’t make a difference.
I use 400mg and take it at about 8pm even though i go to bed around midnight (usually).
It’s extremely safe. I was on 1200mg a day for a while.

I just take trazadone for sleep…300 mg…works for me.
I like my benzos and my sleeping pills.
If you can do it naturally though that’s better. I wish I was med free completely but no such luck.
Good luck with it.
