I don't know how to help my brother

Hi. My brother, 29, was diagnosed with schizophrenia around 4 years ago. There are good months and there are bad months( Summers and hot weather seems to be the bad months for him). Last week was the first time he attempted suicide by taking his whole bottle of medication. Thank God he was taken to the hospital in time and he is alive, still in hospital right now.
I don’t know too many details on his treatment, he doesn’t share too much, but at least once a year he will end up( most of time by his choice) in a mental/drug hospital. As far as I know he doesn’t take any drugs.
My qualification to you guys is, how can I help my brother live. I am terrified his next suicide attempt will be successful. Please talk to me, what, it anything, did you wish your family did for you?
