I don’t know if I told you, but you won’t believe what my stepdaughter did

So I looked it up to double check, and most states have what’s called a Romeo and Juliet law which is pretty much what I described. There are two states, one being Michigan and the other California I think, where both minors can be charged with statutory rape.

Yeah, I live in California and my friends brother in high school was 17 and having sex with his 16 year old girlfriend and her parents hated him anyways and were threatening to have him arrested for statutory rape.

I think it’s ridiculous to charge to minors for statutory rape. Sometimes kids make bad decisions. If they’re both kids, then there’s no rape unless it was forced. I’m in Michigan. But we do need to take this seriously and we are.

I think the primary things to get her to understand are

  1. Safe sex
  2. Consent
  3. It’s dangerous to sneak people into your house without your knowledge because you could think there’s an intruder and attack him.

That’s what I said! My husband could have seriously harmed that kid. It’s such a shock to find a guy in your house who isn’t supposed to be there.
