I decided I will adopt a dog šŸ•

:dog2: I need one in my life.

Missti is already a huge help for me, to forget my problems and feel a little love. She helps me with loneliness.
I can also adopt an older dog who is already accustomed to cats, so I will have more things to do with my time, play with the dog.

last year when I received a puppy as a gift, I freaked out but I wanted to keep him, our apartment was too small at the time and well he was a very large dog but I can not forget the feeling I got the minute he came home. Dogs rule!
Unfortunately I could not keep him, who gifts large puppies?! He was a hunting dog.

I already contacted the shelter, maybe they will help me find a good match.

Dogs are the best!!

I’m sure your cat would love the company,

Not at first maybe, but definitely eventually.

When I got my dog she so desperately wanted to be friends with my cat, but my cat wasn’t having it. My cat hates my dog, and as a result my dog is not too crazy about my cat, but they have learned to coexist. Hopefully your cat and your new dog will like each other. :slightly_smiling_face:

Love dogs. Im sure its gonna be a happy time for you with a dog. All the work you do for the dog pays off when you see his loving face.

I love cats, love their independence, but dogs give more love. My cat gives me love, too, she’s in my lap right now, but my dog is typically the one who jumps up there, so full of love. It’s also nice how my dog gets so excited when I get home. :slightly_smiling_face:

Do you have any idea what kind of dog you’re looking for? A small dog? I have a little chihuahua, and she’s a total sweetheart.

I am not sure the kind I will find from adoption.
I decided I will adopt one. Not buy a puppy.

I love dachshunds a lot, they have the cutest face for some reason.

Does your chihuahua bark a lot? They have a bad reputation for this.

I see a lot of mixed breeds available for adoption, I prefer small dogs but not sure yet.

I misread the title for I decided I will adopt a frog

Yeah, she barks anytime someone out in the hallway gets near the door, or when someone gets near one of the windows. She’s very protective of the apartment.

that is awesome. my in laws and their little girl are going to adopt a dog even though there is already two here three if you count the guests dog. i prefer getting from a shelter that is where we got our two cats technically they are my partner’s little sister’s cats but we take care of everything. we got trooper at 12 weeks and he’s a maine coon blue russian mix and lola we got when she just turned two years old. i like dogs but i seem to prefer the independence of cats

I think pets are a terrible gift to give, unless you have already talked it over with that person and they have expressed they are ready for a pet and what kind of pet they want, etc. Like for example our dog was a Mother’s Day present for my mom (though secretly my parents more intended to get her for me, Mother’s Day was just an excuse lol) but my dad didn’t just show up with a puppy. He found one, then talked it over with my mom, etc, then got her as a gift.

I think it’s wonderful you want to give an older dog a chance! It may be harder to find purebred dogs up for adoption. But plenty of mixed are very cute  At the animal shelter I was at it was like…99% pit bulls or pit bull mixes, and then there was like randomly a mastiff, a pug and 2 fluffy white dogs one that looked like a mop (lol) and another that looked like a shih tzu or Lhasa apso. Working at the dog shelter was fun.
