I can't sleep

I just woke up and can’t go back to sleep. How are you guys doing?

I also have trouble sleeping at night, the problem is that if you take a long acting sleeping pill, it makes us feel sleepy during the day.

Yeah…I’ve a fitbit which does a pretty cool job of tracking your sleep. I did four or five days of hard to wake up 10 hour sleeps…then last night I got up at 3:30 am because I just couldn’t settle…it’s a weird thing this sleep!

Yeah, I wish I could sleep in lol.

Yeah we need a good amount of sleep hopefully sleep knocks at my door in a couple of minutes. Maybe its cause I’m hungry.

try not to eat too much when going to bed…those calories can affect you with these meds! I need to take my meds…I go and read then listen to radio…puts me to sleep these days!

Yeah I noticed that when I eat too late and too much calories. What do you like listening to?

I get sleep deprived sometimes, but I always end up sleeping eventually.

I swear that last winter I went for two months day and night straight with no sleep. It was the combo of new sobriety and getting used to being on a new ap med. They say that with “post acute withdrawal syndrome” (PAWS), normal sleep may take up to 18 months to resume. Fortunately, most of the rest of us here don’t have that to deal with.

Also fortunately, insomnia isn’t fatal. It only is if you fall asleep at the wheel, I suppose.

Not me. Long acting sleeping pills don’t keep me asleep. I still awaken at around 4 am in the morning. And I’m not sleepy in the daytime with it either. I have to take an AP to knock me out again in the morning to get some more sleep.

I did not sleep too well last night myself. But it could have been worse. I was in one of those light sleeps where you are half awake for half the night.

I hope you manage to have a wonderful nights sleep tonight
