I can't sleep again tonight

I didn’t get more than an hour and a half of sleep last night and here it is 9:30 pm and I can’t sleep again tonight. And I am freezing cold in this apartment and I don’t know why. Here it is August already and it is cold in here. Darn Nebraska. Always cold year round. It’s either cold from the weather or from the air conditioning one or the other. Any way, I think I might be a little hypomanic because I can’t sleep and I’m talking to myself nonstop. I took my night time meds including 200 mg of Seroquel and 6 mg of Melatonin and they are worthless. Can’t sleep. I didn’t have any caffeine today so, it’s not that. Gosh I hate this disease.

I’m sorry you can’t sleep. I’ve been struggling with insomnia too. If you find something that works, let me know - lol. If you want to talk, I’ll likely be around the forums much of the night. :frowning:

You can’t sleep either? Oh, lucky you! I am so mad I can’t see straight about it. It’s the usual with me. Exhausted, but not sleepy.

I hope you can get some rest, Gina.

It’s a big if. Maybe, maybe not.

Been there! The melatonin worked for 2 nights and then stopped… I was “spitting nails” mad.

Is there anything weighing on your mind? Or do you think it’s just a phase of the disease?

Absolutely nothing is weighing on my mind. It’s just a phase of the disease, I think. I might be relapsing, who knows?

My wife bought a sleep machine at Walmart…

It has different settings of recordings of rain, the beach tide, thunderstorms… etc.

It creates a nice ambient background noise and really helps both of us sleep better. You should invest in one of these gadgets.

I go through occasional periods of insomnia. My doctor tells me just to ride them out. He tells me to get up and do something constructive when I can’t sleep. And he tells me not to sleep during the daytime at all. He says my brain will soon re orient itself to the proper sleep cycle. So, that’s what I do.

I’ve heard all about Dr. Low.

I finally got to sleep last night. I turned down the air conditioner and got the room a little warmer so the air was more comfortable so I could sleep. I ended up sleeping in until noon.
