Insomnia - hour 42, and counting

Yup. Any advice for a person that has no effect from 3 mg Rohypnol?
Woke up on Oct 27 at 7.30am
I took a Tramadol Retard in the evening of Oct 27 at around 8pm and one at about 6am on Oct 28. It is now 1.51am on Oct 29.
How long do you guys think it could take for me to be able to fall asleep?
I have had periods in my life where I sleep very little, but that usualy means I’m on my way to a psychotic episode, but I just got injections. One fast acting (Cisordinol Acutard), then a long acting one (Haldol), and Diazepam. I’m not ready to go back!

I think you have the same problem as me. Sleep aids have no effect on you. Try lying down and listening to a guided meditation video. It might help you sleep and it might not, but at least it will be an hour of rest.

Only problem is that I have terrible akathisia. I can’t lay down for that long.
But thank you for the advice. I’ll try it when I feel sleepy again.

I have used this one before

Ahh, that does suck. Maybe try doing some light exercise to wear your body out? I don’t know if that would work for akathisa or not.

It usually doesn’t. I had akathesia while on Haldol last time, but not this bad. I was “dancing” all the time while standing. Working out didn’t help :frowning:

Have you tried meditation

Sorry. I think some people here take beta blockers for their akathisia. It might be worth looking into.

I have a comforter with chains in it, that weighs 10 kilos (about 22 pounds I think). It helps me relax, but not enough.

@JH85 I have tried relaxation exercises, but not meditation.

When does it start becoming dangerous? How long can I stay awake without going mad?
I’ll bring up beta blockers with my pdoc on Nov 8. Doubt I’ll get any, but it is worth a try.

I’ve insomnia too. Melatonin is a nootropic and a sleeping aid which is in low levels in Schizophrenics, it regulates sleep cycle or something like that, Melatonin dosage is 3 mg to 10 mg, 10 mg being the maximum. I take 6 mg every night before sleep and it helps me perfectly. This nootropic, Melotonin is also recommended in Schizophrenic.com website.

I have tried Melatonin, but had no luck with that.

Rohypnol didn’t knock you out? …holy ■■■■

This one works for me:

Replied to the wrong person, accident

Nope. Recommended dose in Sweden is 1mg. 3mg did nothing.
Neuroleptics are usually best at knocking me out, but not this time.
Listening to the clip you posted. Thank you <3

Don’t know if it would help, but I like to walk around with eyes sort of half-closed with that Buddha “mudra” or whatever it’s called for dispelling fear. Sometimes it eases me into a relaxed state after awhile. (So long as you’ve got space to walk around without bumping into anything and no one can see you looking ridiculous to ask you what you’re doing).

Otherwise I rock back and forth in a chair for some time with eyes closed.

I try not to think of the time I’ve been up too.

My usual tricks don’t work, so I will try this.

Tries relaxing with some calming stuff and a combo of high dose bensodiadepines. Fell asleep after almost 46 hours awake.
Thanx for the support guys. It means a lot

Insomnia to that degree could be a sign of relapse, so if it continues, I’d consider getting medical help (doctor or hospital).

I know, I always sleep very little before a relapse. Thank you for your concern.
