Yesterday we legit got home invaded. There was physical evidence like bottles on the floor and a shower faucet on. Tonight I hallucinated a man in my room creeping up to my bed. I snapped out of it and then suddenly no one was in my room. I could use some support I am very shaken.
I’m so very sorry. You have every reason to be frightened. Just know that the unreality part of your brain is messing with your reality. You are not okay. Can you sleep with the light on and with someone else in the room?
Thanks @anon55031185. I think I’m just going to stay up or go to sleep in my armchair so im not in a helpless position lying down. Appreciate the support
That’s a great idea. Maybe sip something hot with no caffeine and put on a show you really love, or listen to music. Try to relax your mind and body. Do something comforting. We are here for you, too. If you need to talk.
That sounds super scary.
I would agree with @anon55031185 about sleeping with a night lamp on if it makes you feel better.
Sorry to hear that happened.
But it’s good you snapped out of it.
Sorry to hear man. Hope it passes soon
Whoa, if someone broke into my house I’d be freaking out probably.
I’ve considered several times getting a large dog. We don’t live in a dangerous neighborhood, but you never know…
Nomad, did you or family contact the police regarding that incident? I mean the intrusion, not your hallucination.
Sleeping in the armchair is a brilliant idea I think that’ll keep you calm and you’ll know that you’re safe
Yes we called the police. They came and found no signs of forcible entry and couldn’t explain anything so wrote it off as an “odd case”
Sorry Nomad, you’ll feel better soon.
