I would like to learn how to meditate. I had a doctor who said it helped him and recommended I should try it. I used to have a tape of meditation music.
A really simple form of meditation is just using your tactile senses. Simply notice how your right hand feels⌠You donât have to try to focus or do anything in particular, just notice how it feels.
It will start to feel like it is tingling. Now, to help keep your mind engaged, just shift your focus from one finger to the other very slowly.
If you wander off and start thinking about something, donât worry about it. Just notice the sensation of your hand tingling again.
There are dozens of different forms of meditation, but this one is very simple and works quite well for grounding
You can also notice the feeling of the bottom of your feet, the feeling of the breath going in and out of your nose, whatever feels natural to you
Thanks @Cragger.
I like guided meditations, where you have an audio file that tells you what to imagine and how to breathe and such.
Well I do it is I stand on Main Street and wait for some pretty looking girl to walk by and I catch my breath I stretch a little and make grunting sounds to attract her
No a true meditation thatâs where you go out Into the Woods near a stream and Babbling Brook sit on a beach towel cross your legs and hold a position for 15 minutes and take you in the sound
My best meditation is with candles soft music in the tub
My best meditation is having some magic mushroom tea along with a hot bath under the heat light
lie down, close your eyes, start with the top of your head and imagine that the suns rays are gently warming your scalp. then the rays are moving on down and gently warming your forehead. And as you feel the suns rays gently warming your forehead a sense of calm is coming over you.
and then you feel it on your face and on down to each part of your body slowly. At each step of the way your taking the time to really concentrate on how good it feels and how relaxed you are. Do this until you get to the bottom of your feet. You will be very relaxed, calm and grounded.

Hmm. . .
Hello @see121!.
Hope All Is Well. Nice Nights & Days And Such.
Meditation. To Subtract Oneself From Society, Civilization, And Culture For A Moment In Time.
Is It An Easy, Or Difficult Task To Tackle?.
Some Say Easy, Some Say Meaningless. Either Or, It All Depends On The True Goals.
If It Is To Be The Leader Of The Free World. Meditation Probably Wonât Get You Very Far.
If It Is To Calm Your Senses, Find Rest, And Comfort In A Sometimes Chaotic Environment Of Confusion.
WellâŚ,
Meditation May Suit Your Personal Tastes Accordingly.
How To Meditate?. Which Is The Closest To Correct Way?.
WellâŚ,
There Is No âcorrectâ Way. There Is Only What Works For You Personally.
If One Wanders Quietly From Their Societal Hierarchy And Position In The World For 15 Minutes.
That Could Be A Quick Step In The Right Direction.
Sit. In A Comfortable Position. And Focus On Your Breathing. . .
1 2 3 In, Rest. 1 2 3 Hold. 1 2 3 Out, Rest. 1 2 3 Hold.
or
In 1 2 3, Rest. 1 2 3 Hold. 1 2 3 Out, Rest. 1 2 3 Hold.
And Continue The Cycle. Whichever Seems More Fitting To You Personally.
And Clear Your Mind Patiently. Without Concern For The Usual Endless Stream Of Thought.
Close Your Eyes During The Cycle. And Stare Through The Backs Of Your Pupils.
As You Stare At The Backs Of Your Eyelids.
To Regain The Moment Of âRight Here, Right Nowâ. Clear Away The Cobwebs Of Uncertainty.
And To Regain Control Over Your Personal Sense Of Living.
Give It A Try In The Way That I Have Mentioned. And If It Works, Great!.
If It Doesnât Help in Any Way. WellâŚ, I Apologize. But!, Hey!, At Least We Tried (!!!).
Good Luck!.
~P.s. Hope, Trust, True Love, Honesty, Joy, And Endlessly Eternal Peace!.~
Listening to music, watching television, browsing the web are all forms of meditation.
Just gotta try to relax and concentrate at the same time and wham bam, youâre meditating.
đ§ââď¸
Obviously, thereâs no single type of meditation that fits everyone.
Meditation is part of the AA, CA and NA programs. But as my sponsor told me, the method you use is personal; you find the one method that suits you and your needs. Thereâs a lot of methods out there and you can experiment and try different methods until you find one that fits you.
Iâm sure there are websites devoted to meditation that give you different ways to meditate.
A lot of meditation is deep breathing, relaxing, and doing it in a quiet place where you wonât be disturbed. I meditated for a few years. I donât think it had any long term effects or benefits for me but the short term effects was it sure relaxed me, quieted my mind and relieved stress.
My voices get louder when I meditate so I stopped doing that.
Same as @Jonathan2, meditation increases the frequency and volume of the voices. I tried some guided meditation with a therapist a couple years ago, and I just wanted to vault out of that chair and hit him over the head and tell him to shut the fark up. (I didnât know that s-t-f-u is in the censored list. Jeez, seriouslyâŚ)
