How to give up bread?

I know @anon94176359 thinks highly of powerlifters. He’s a smart guy maybe he can figure out what they do with bread. They probably eat brown rice or something from the research I just did.

Brown rice is a superfood for us all @thebest :hugs:. Just make sure it’s say Lundsberg, so many brands have high arsenic counts

So it takes twice as long as white rice to make. I might get some in the coming days.

The brown basmati or brown jasmine are my faves. Edit if you get the plain and is too blah, instead of water you can use low sodium chicken broth and will make it more palatable :hugs:

Go you! I have a steamer. Mine bit me awhile back…grr. Like a bad, free, I moved it while on, it popped open and I ended up with a steam burn :cold_sweat:. Luckily, I knew from chem how to take care of it or else coulda been worse. But geez, our relationship has changed hehe

The McDougall diet is starch-heavy (bread included) and allows you to balance your blood sugar out. It can control type 2 diabetes. The thing is you have to cut out fat and protein for it to work, has to be an 80% calories from carb / 10% calories from fat / 10% calories from protein ratio.

I cannot give up bread or sweets. No way. I love them both too much.

I love bread but it’s addictive and gives me brain fog.

I love brown rice.
And yes it’s a superfood.

I had lots of it the other day.

@anon94176359 - brown rice is a good substitute for bread.

Or if you are going to eat bread, make sure it’s whole wheat.

Pasta boiled “aldente” so its still a little firm is good. Corn tortillas are amazing because they have a lot of fibre and low sodium. Include leafy greens like spinach with dinner and lunch. Converted or “parboiled” rice is low gi. Steel cut oats.

I also love bread and pasta.
If you eat alot of sandwhices, you could always try a lettuce wrap instead of bread.
I bought myself a vegetti pro for Xmas. So now instead of eating pasta alot, I use my vegetti.
I have used squash twice so far. It was so good. The best we have made so far was squash noodles with parmesan and a few pieces of bacon.

Stop eating sandwiches altogether to get away from bread? I have two pieces of toast with my daily scrambled eggs but that’s it…sometimes I skip the toast.
