How to fix this?

“Individuals with schizophrenia often express affect that seems to contradict content. For example the person with schizophrenia might laugh in a lighthearted way at visual stimuli that others find frightening or terrifying.”

This describes me. I had that since birth which makes me think that my sz is genetic and that I had it since birth.

Some say sz is a neurodevelopmental disorder.
There is research proving it. This sucks!

I think Sz is part genetic and part environment…with a dash of unresolved PTSD.

“Recent genomic studies have identified large numbers of specific risk DNA changes and offer a direct and robust test of the predictions of the neurodevelopmental continuum model and gradient hypothesis. These findings are reviewed in detail. They not only support the view that schizophrenia is a disorder whose origins lie in disturbances of brain development, but also that it shares genetic risk and pathogenic mechanisms with the early onset neurodevelopmental disorders (intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorders and ADHD).”

I feel that my sz is like mild intellectual disability…

Let’s see. Misplaced affect and mild intellectual deficit. And your search for science. We do need a fix. Do you believe the answers will come from the field of medical research?
I don’t know any other way to approach our disease.

I know that there is no meds that will completely cure sz including cognitive symptoms. But I think that a new med can improve me by ~40%.

I have some hopes for Vraylar but idk when it will be available here.
