When I got pregnant I lowered it to 6mg on my own because I thought I could handle it. Then ended up in the hospital quite dangerously delusional and had to go up to 10 with a PRN of 4mg for whenever I needed it.
I’ve been taking the extra 4 pretty much every day for a few weeks now and even that’s not really keeping up. But going back to 20mg makes me worry I’ll not be able to safely watch my daughter because last time I was on 20 it would make me just stare at walls.
How much haldol have you been prescribed and it actually worked? Is my dose too low? Too high? Do I need to find something else? I’ve still not tried thorazine, so that’s up next. Ugh. I hate this.
I take just 2 mg in the morning and 1 mg at night. It is not my only AP, though. The Haldol is in addition to the high-dose Abilify Maintena shot. The Haldol has helped quite a bit with the paranoia that the Abilify couldn’t seem to get rid of.
If I remember right I was on 40. That stuff works great, still don’t understand why I had to go off of it. Maybe because I have td. It’s okay though I take rexulti and saphris now and doing ok and my td is not worsening.
75 msg Haldol the shot every two week, plus Topomax 100mgs nightly.
After I stopped the shot - was on it a year and a half- I went on 10 mg Haldol nightly. Think I was at5 msg Haldol and 50 msg topomax nightly before I lost my med insurance and quit meds all together.
They also put me on over the highest effective dose, once its blocking 50% of dopamine there’s no point in going up cuz that is max ability of drug but i read they prescribe higher doses anyways cuz they dunno what they are doing and think its stronger but its still max 50% output.
