I like to sleep that much too. Never slept that much before I get sick.

if i dont take my medication i sleep a lot less than i do now. i dont know if it’s more that im not medicated, or if it’s the manic type mood problem, cause my mood is definitely often increased if i’m not medicated. i’m schizoaffective, so.

how does medication affect most schizophrenics?

I’ve actually been on a regular sleep schedule of about 8 hours, going to bed a bit early though and would rather not keep doing that. It’s good for mental health to try to be regurlar though.

My anxiety is up so I’m awake with the usual questions about why me, how f##king wrong I spent the majority of my life doing everything
perfect as I could for other people without regard to myself believing I’d get my turn at happiness…now I am completely alone which is what I begged for when the psychosis started and I couldn’t take anymore…I sleep alone when as a kid I was so scared at night I couldn’t wait to go up and have someone close when slept

Insomnia is common with bipolar disorder but it’s also common with schizophrenia and schizoaffective.

Here’s a poll I did on that.

I started having sleep problems when my psychosis started. I kept waking up having horrific nightmares and dreams for a good while and eventually it started to go away. Then I kept waking up over and over again throughout the middle of the night. I tried 6 different medications and nothing was working. When I stopped exercising is when my symptoms eased up. I take .75 mg of Clonazepam and 50mg of Benadryl at night to sleep and get a good 10 - 12 hours of sleep. I wish I would sleep less but I feel good when I wake up so it’s working.

I think that there are simply too many different factors that could keep one awake or in constant slumber.

down to a good 8 hours. Was doing 10 daily but found some regular exercise has really helped. I don’t feel as ripped off sleeping 10!

I am all over the place with sleep

For about 7 weeks I sleep almost all of my free time (after work and a lot on the weekends). I try to schedule activities to prevent me from sleeping. This weekend was Labor Day weekend and I had 4 days without work. I sleep about 13 or 14 hours and as I lie in bed I get depressed and start thinking about suicide. It feels horrible. I see my psychiatrist tomorrow and I hope he can help somehow.

I sleep a lot. Go to bed between 8 and 11 pm. Wake up for an hour around 1 am. And wake up in the morning around 9am

How about either all day and all night OR not at all?

Solid ten hours minimum, 8pm to around 6am, when I can sleep.

i would think alot less than average when off meds during an episode and more than average when on meds due to sedation

Sometimes not at all, sometimes 14 hours, sometimes somewhere in between.

I sleep 12 hours a day… used to 10hrs but im tired after 10 hrs of sleep

I sleep 12-14hrs. Before my current medication I was getting 6-8hrs

10 hours it’s just perfect for me and young people until 25y in general, i’m sleeping 5h to 7h and it’s killing me slowly
