I sleep 12-15 hours a day, and if I get less than that the psychosis comes tip- toeing back into my mind. Does this happen to anyone else? Or am I unique in this peculiar need for more sleep than the recommended 8 hours.
I’m currently sleeping 10 hours a day. I used to sleep 12 with geodon. I do need my beauty sleep. Can not function otherwise.
I hear ya, lately I’ve been getting crappy sleep, and the psychosis is edging back in ever so slightly. Pretty much the though broadcasting, and the auditory hallucinations, yup all that fun stuff.
try 24 hours then we’ll talk…
Been there done that, when I got off missions overseas, i was down and out.
Sometimes it’s unavoidable. Worst one is where I’ve slept 24hrs and missed a whole day. Takes me all day to try and adjust to the fact and I’m just so disorientated.
You might want to google sleep hygiene it helps somewhat.
I’ll check that out, thanks.
I actually can only get about 8-10 hours of sleep a day at-the-moment. There was a time when I was getting 12+ hours, but those days were over a year ago.
My mind seems to be very sensitive to the light & dark shifts from the sun. My sleep schedule is basically on par with the solar schedule of sunrise & sunset. I’m up when the sun is full in the sky (~10AM in summer), and am ready to sleep when the sun is setting.
Cloudiness & rain throw me off quite a bit, though.
Lucky to get more than 9 hours. Typically between 3 and 6. I wake up and can’t go back to sleep. Then i just get distracted. In many cases I could go back to sleep but then I’d mess with the day night cycle.
When I’m awake I really don’t really remember or keep track of these things any more. I don’t really even get tired. Going to sleep takes 2 hours.
Still comfortable though.
That blows, sorry to hear that. Sleep is the only convenience I get nowadays, i socially isolate (always) so no friends, and psychosis is always keeping me from doing stuff I’d like to do.
Sleep was my only escape for a while. Used to sleep a lot more. I think I prefer being awake now, just kind of how things go.
Dreams are weird. Bed time hallcuinations suck. Mid conscious states suck. Waking up sucks. Oh well oh well oh well.
Yeah waking up to the realization that you are sick still always sucks!
When I was on 120 mg of Geodon, I slept 12-15 hours, but now that I’m only on 60, I sleep 7-9 hours. It is much better.
I don’t really monitor my sleeping habits but I know I sleep a lot more than the average person…I usually go to bed around 2am, and sleep until about 6 or 7 and then get up eat breakfast and go sleep on the couch until anywhere between noon and 2pm. But it’s not a steady sleep I’ll get up here and there, and it takes a while to fall back asleep. Sometimes I just lay out there because there’s not much else to do in the mornings, and Kitty will come out and lay on top of me on the sofa and I like that.
