Forget strenious exercise on meds, they made me unfit. Exercie alone beneficial no doubt

I do weightlifting four times a week. It can be done on a lot of meds. I’m on Seroquel. I need to wait five hours between taking the meds and exercising to get a good workout.

I do daily exercise. I think it helps so much.

I exercise almost every day. So far, I have not found any great benefit to my mental health, but i have less chronic pain than I did prior to working out, so that is worth it.

I wear a 55 pound weight vest and walk around for 30 minutes around the neighbourhood every day. Great way for muscular and cardio conditioning. Now my 10 pound laptop bag doesn’t even weight like anything to me. Only thing is the vest looks like a bullet proof vest, it makes me uncomfortable walking around when there are strangers.

Exercise lowers cholesterol, blood pressure and diabetes risk. So it lowers heart diseases and stroke risk. Drs prescribe exercise for those conditions. My Dr told me to exercise before prescribing me meds but I didn’t so now I am on diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure meds.

Exercise increases lifespan especially for schizophrenics but it won’t help mental illness significantly.

I use my bicycle to go everywhere (distances are short here to everything) and i walk at times. This week tango dancing starts again too. No real sports though.

I believe i would feel less depressed and anxious if i exercised, which might also lessen delusions. But i dont do it, i dont have the disciplin/energy.

Yes. I believe in it and adding exercise has made me sleep less and feel better. A lot of things you can do with bodyweight and getting the heart rate up is good.

LS! For the last two years I have been training every day. I am 62 and when I was younger I was the strongest in the gym. Today the gym opened for the first time in months and I went there. I did strength exercises and I was almost as strong as three and a half months ago when the gym closed. My quadriceps leg extension three times eight reps with 134 kilo is elite strength according to the website Strengthlevel. The life expectancy for a man with schizophrenia in the Western World is 59.9 years and exercise surely extends my life. Do I feel better? Yes!

I practice yoga 4 to 6 times per week and it helps me tremendously. Especially helps my chronic pain.

I felt cured when I got my heart rate up, did intense cardio (relatively speaking), and stuff. It only lasted a short time, but even my psychiatrist said I could cure myself (severe DP/DR) if I took care of myself and exercised in an extreme manner and do it continuously for a few months (I think?). I don’t know if he was serious or if it was good or lawful advice, but it gave me hope. This is the same doctor who kept on pushing the paranoid schizophrenia diagnosis because I talked about not being real and living in the matrix. I believe now this was my response to being severely traumatized.

This is the same doctor years later that gave me too many psychiatric meds and almost killed me. I guess he’s incompetent.

I walk almost every day of the week, and workout with simple HIIT about 3-4 times a week. I do feel better in a way after. I had a career in fitness before sza. Even tho I’m obese I still like to exercise. Even starting by walking one day a week can help, start slow to avoid burn out or injury.

I exercise daily by doing a 25 - 35 min. yoga routine. And when my broken toe heals up, I’m going back to doing 10 burpees everyday as well.

With or without exercise I have the same amount of symptoms, but for me, exercise is a good way to get my heart rate up a bit and spend some quality time with me dog.

I walk one hour per day. I don’t think it helps the sz. My medication is what helps.
