Take medication, exercise, take a walk, read a book, take a class. Socialize if you can. Stay off drugs. Speak to your psychiatrist. And if you can meditate, meditate, but I can’t do this one. And eat lots of fruits and vegetables, makes you happier. *takes 24 months though.

Having someone supportive around helps. Having a quality counselor and scriptologist are key. Doing what you need to do to get good sleep is also important. Staying positive was probably the biggest factor in my journey. My counselor said that among all her colleuges I am the most successful of any patient they have ever had in recovery. I think that may be pushing it a little because surely someone else they have treated has made good with sz but if not I am insanely hopeful for others, still.
Stay positive =+)

It’s just down to luck in my opinion.

We’re all so different, even with some shared experiences. I’ve had to scale down what it means to be successful in life, to the point of just being here and functioning with the basics every day. While others continue on and get their degrees, even becoming doctors.
Not letting the disorder crush you is success, and whatever you have left after that is bonus. And that’s an individual thing as well. What works for me may not work for someone else.

You just drew the short stick, Karl. You have a nasty type of schizophrenia, probably. It’s my case too. I’m stuck on all aspects of my life right now, can’t move on.

Yup I’m lucky

When I’m off my meds I’m worse than almost anybody. On them? I respond really well.

change your outlook of “Successful”

I am just happy to be alive and happy to have family that cares - that is success!

If you’re on a dead-end road, turn around, go back, and choose a different road.

Worked for me.

What is a scriptologist?

I’m becoming successful… Pure hatred and lotsa metal…

Lots of hard work, luck, lots of support, luck, being compliant with what professionals and my family suggests I do to help myself, luck. Taking suggestions, luck. Keeping an open mind.

Oh yeah. I forgot the most important thing. of all, lots and lots of luck.

my aunt worked at a factory while being sick and she retired at 48 and took a pension and she still lives off of it 20 years later. my dad on the other hand worked dead in jobs while being untreated until he was in his late 40s, now he just sits at home and drinks beer all day. It differs by people I guess.
