Uh, yeah. Everybody desires those traits. Having this disease kinda wrecks those traits in a person.

I’m not saying to give up by any means. But it’s understandable why not everybody is employed.

I like Woody Allen’s quote: “90% of success is just showing up.”

Being goal orientated and having a big taste for reward. I really do think big taste for reward is something created in childhood though, culture/upbringing, it’s a luck thing in my opinion.

It can definitely be manifested through life events.

schizophrenia is not a disease, its a mental illness im pretty sure… Having Schizophrenia doesnt stop me, dont make an excuse to be succesful in life.

Where am I making an excuse? I’m just saying that when I hear of certain people’s symptoms I can sometimes understand the difficulty for that person to hold a job.

I want to work parttime, i have program in social services, i can keep my benefits and still make 58,000 dollars a year and have 20,000 max in bank account. Alot people make excuses because they have an mental illness i hear it alot, i have it but i still want to work. It annoys me when they say that because they have no desire to succeed and there letting there illness beat them.

85% of schizophrenics can’t work, unemployed or living in the streets. Sz is serious, its the worst mental illness according to WHO.

Symptoms severity are different for everyone, some can work but the majority can’t.

Im not in those 85 percent then in the 15 percent that want to work. 85 percent are people are beaten by the illness, not me.

There are limits. I used to be an Information Technology professional working at the Enterprise level. I made a lot more in that job role than I do now working as an insurance broker. There were limits to the stress I could handle. Not just the limitations of my schizophrenia and autism, but my heart condition as well. All the fighting spirit in the world can’t carry you across some lines or keep you on the side you want to be when the heat is on.

My advice to people is to never let someone else decide for you what your limits are, find out for yourself. Most people with SZ can do more than they are willing to give themselves credit for, has been my experience.

I hope that this is really the case for you. I still count myself lucky bcz I was very close to kill ppl many times when unmedicated. You can’t expect an insane criminal to become sane and fully functional in society even on meds. Maybe if Vraylar becomes available and works for me.

Dont let illness defeat you, your more than just an illness. I see alot people with people with mental illness that are poor, dirty, negative, obese, and i dont want to be mean but losers. I want be a winner in life. I want to be back on track again. Im grateful for my medication, without i wouldnt make it.
