How do you cope with waking up?

Each morning I wake from a night of vivid dreaming.

When I get up my head feels like it has been beaten

This means I do not feel human again until I drink about 4 coffees and smoking maybe 5-6 cigarettes

Then I take the pills again, and so it begins where it ends

Christmas just makes things harder than ever

I wish my dreams were my reality

Do you snore? Do you have sleep apnea? Or is it the meds?

The best thing you can do is ask your doc, perhaps if they let you do a sleep study?

I think it’s the meds to be honest.

Guess at least I am sleeping better now

Wow I thought it was just me I’ve nightmares most times I sleep , there horrible ones where someone ends up dead including myself graphic
I’ve been sleeping all day and up all night the past few days, this morning I feel good I’ve to ring doctors for annual review they sent me a text
Have a nice day Joker :smirk:

I refused mine this year citing that I don’t care about my physical health

Was pretty silly, but never mind!

If I actually cared about my health I wouldn’t smoke so much!

It’s difficult to get back into a healthy liferoutine. You should be used to the medication by now. Don’t they benefit you ?

I also have vivid dreams every night. I wake up a couple a times a night, but I sleep very long and usually snooze a couple times my alarm.

Once they wake me up I can’t go back to sleep. Gets really frustrating sometimes when it happens at like 3am night after night

I have the same, but taking clozapine really helps here. I’m sedated and that way I fall back asleep. Flip side is that I sleep 12 hours.

Do you feel tired during the day? Else it’s not such a big issue.

Only when I don’t get enough sleep

Much of the time I am ok. Right now I need Ativan to calm me down during the day

Yeah you should ring them really, just cos we smoke and have issues we should still get checked, they can do a lot for health these days and catch things before they get any worse. I’ve always got bloody things, currently have an eye problem and a tiny skin tag on my shoulder giving me jip. In the summer I had an infection took two lots of antibiotics to cure. Years ago I’d be dead by now without antibiotics.
So yeah mate, get your ass to the doctors

Coffee could actually be the problem.

I find waking up not so bad since I quit. Before that I felt like I’d been hit by a truck when I woke up.

I deal with it by also drinking coffee

Me too. I have espresso ritual every morning upon awakening.

I’m a zombie in the morning. I take 1.5mg of clonazepam before bed, and it tranquilizes the f*ck out of me, it takes me a large cup of coffee and a few cups of tea, plus 2-3 hours to really get with it after I wake up.

I also have trouble waking up and I need my coffee and ciggie to think straight.
I don’t smoke as much or drink as much coffee but I can understand the struggle.

I usually let my voices talk all they need before drink my coffee and yes sometimes I’m stuck at bed for to long.

I’m the odd one out. I typically get up at 5am and pace about, sometimes I’ll do housework or tidy. I only tend to drink decaf. I’d love to have a lay in but I have surges of adrenaline/wake from nightmares in a panic.
