How do you cope with life

I cope with christian mantras. Theyve been helpfull in focusing my thoughts instead of swirling off into a downward spiral of depressive or bad thoughts about myself. I also learned to reject and accept the thoughts i want to think while im using mantras. I made up my mind to be pleasant,aggreeable,and enjoyable toward people so i dont have to be overwhelmed in social situtions because i already know how im going to act or behave toward people. I dont worry about people anymore in that regard. The saying “it is what it is” has helped me accept anything in life and stay calm while going through it or dealing with it. I usually use that as part of my mantra for the day. I learned how to calm down and relax to. Those are probably the biggest things i use to cope with life. What do you do to cope with life?

@freefee, I have a lot of coping skills. Meditation is one of them. My coping skills are as follows:

  1. Breathing meditation
  2. Hatha yoga
  3. Prayer
  4. Playing my piano
  5. Reading
  6. Owning a cat
  7. Volunteering
  8. Good sleep hygiene
  9. Good nutrition
  10. Socialization through friendships or social media

I just do my best to keep my life together. There’s not only one thing that keeps me going, but a roster of many. Music making, family, friends, food, science, spiritual practicies to mention few. Somehow I feel different today. Is this a new beginning for me? Really hope so. All I did today was praying that if I could find a real me. And few hours later I started to feel like me. I mean I feel a lot closer to the old me than for ages. Fingers crossed.

exercise and smoking cigarettes. although not at the same time :slight_smile:

I’m not coping very well at the moment. But I’ve got no choice, I have to carry on.

I just muddle my way through it. I’m hoping I can muddle my way to somewhere positive in time.
