How do you budget and not overspend?

I just don’t buy anything except essentials like rent, food and heating. I have always been a bit of a miser when it comes to spending money. My grandmother is as well, so I get it from her.

Another method is to set a high goal, like for me I am saving to have some fixed dentures and it costs £19,000 to get them done. I have saved for quite a few years now and have £3000 to go.

It is a lot of money to spend on some new gnashers, but I have a couple of front teeth kicked out after I was attacked and hate wearing partial dentures.

Or I could buy a canal boat and live in that… Food for thought.
