Does anyone else find they spend all their money in the first few days of being paid because all the bills are easier to just get out of the way? I got paid yesterday. I have £30 left
I miss working I’ve quit cigarettes for the most part though, and i’m starting to wonder how i was managing before lol
Edit: I guess this is what responsibility i’ve been negligent on. debts, living cash flow and savings
No, I don’t do that. I pay bills and expenses as they come up any different times of the month and occasionally spend on luxuries throughout the month. All I’m really spending money on besides bills is fast food and stuff off Amazon and I have enough money where I can buy stuff at the beginning of the month or at the end.
See, I got my tax refund and my sister says I should plan a trip or do some big, expensive entertainment event with the money but the last three years I’ve just been sticking the money in my checking account each year and spend it a little at a time on sodas or stuff off of Amazon. Last year I made my refund last until December. This year it wasn’t so big so I’ll probably have to start seriously watching my money in a couple of months. Until then I drive thru and get a soda whenever I feel like and buy what I need.
I make it the month but I had $200 left on the 20th and it’s all gone. Haircut, laundry, gas, food, nicotine, coffees. I was planning on saving some. I need to get stricter with my budget.
No, I’ve run up big credit card debt several times. The last time was 7 years ago when I ran my credit cards up to $7000. My sisters helped me make a plan to pay it off and with the help of the food bank and cashing in my 401K I payed it all off in two years and been out of debt ever since.
I found cutting nicotine made me less prone to impulsive spending, idk if there’s any credible science to that or not though.
@77nick77 i see, i’m also slowly paying off some credit as well. i understand how that can accidentally happen to people. Every time i have held a job since developing schizophrenia - one of my signs of going off the rails is reckless spending
we also send off all the bills at the first of the month…doing better with finances…cutting out all money I used to spend on myself…I added it up last month on my bank account and I spent 115 dollars on myself…unacceptable !!
