I just figured out how to save a bunch of money on soft drinks. Instead buying 3 or four 20 ounce sodas…… you can buy a 2 liter for 3.50. 1 two liter is equal to over 3 twenty ounces bottles. That is around 7 dollars. So you save around 3 dollars and fifty cents each time. So it adds up. How do you budget your money, and how much do you save?
The best thing I can do to budget money is to not eat out I always save a lot when I eat at home
I’m trying to drink water with no soda and I TRY not to go out to much
I’ve been eating at home. My New Year’s resolution was to figure out a budget that works. The new month is about to start and we’ll see. I think I can do it.
I like doing free stuff
Like my food stamps
I also have free TV with antenna, section 8, thrift store and dollar store, my job and SSI
Really, I buy almost everything second hand and live like a king
Utilizing resources is definitely the way to go
I spend it and hope for the best. If I overspend, I notice there’s no money left, and sing it out in creative ways to the end of the month. Or doesn’t that count as budgeting?
I have a spreadsheet
Everything I spend is on there
Maybe once or twice a week, I go through my banking app and take out what I have paid for and the balance
It makes sure that when I do spend money, I know what I have
When I turned 18, I had my first credit card and got into lots of debt.
Ever since then, I have kept a very close eye on my money so that I don’t live beyond my means
Works very well.
I have a spreadsheet too. It shows me when I have overdone it in a category, and I try to be under budget on a different line item to make up for it.
Have a bit of a cushion in my checking account that I don’t want to lose.
Also, I don’t carry a credit card balance, and I have all my autopays like internet, cell phone, and electricity hit there before I pay it off out of checking. I get a nice amount of cash back, and it keeps me disciplined when I have to make a $700 payment that seems huge. Same outlay, but mentally, I pay a lot closer attention to what I spend.
I pay my credit card balance every two weeks after my husband gets paid, so it remains under control. Works for me.
I usually work mine out every 2 weeks on paper - and shove everything on direct debits. You can garuntee i will always be in the overdraft tho.
Ive actually given up control of it to my sister - and im doled out 100 a week for whatever i want. I just email her the shopping and bills for her to pay.
I spend all my money as fast as possible then end up broke for weeks. It’s a neat budgeting trick
I don’t really ‘budget’. I just think about everything twice before spending money. That’s it.
Works like a charm.
Haha. Sounds Exactly like me. Amazons always a killer for me. Especially if ive had a drink - im click buying crap on offer at 2am in the morning, then cant be arsed to return it - and give it away lol.
Lool I hear you man. I’ve made a commitment to not buy anything other than food and necessities any more. Done with Amazon and buying random crap I don’t need.
I use Microsoft Excel 365 to budget my income & expenses. I have 5 accounts or T-accounts if anyone has taken accounting before. 2x Chequing accounts and 3x credit cards.
Debits & Credits!
