Help with nicotine substitutes - how have you done to stop smoking?

Hi, I have tried to use the patch as an alternative to stop smoking, but it has not worked.
the patches of my skin are peeling off, I tried to apply adhesive tape to the patch but it still takes off.
Nicotine candies are useful too? What do you recommend to minimize my addiction to tobacco? the e-cig would be an option but I am afraid of becoming addicted to vape
Is Nicotine Replacement Therapy Really Useful?
I need advice please!

I don’t know if I may post Tabex tablets site, but you can google Cytisine.

I vape and use nicotine gum, haven’t smoked in years.

I also had skin peeling from the patches. Maybe the gum will be better

I switched to vaping as i was developing COPD, and have been vaping for 3 years now and have gradually ordered juice with lower and lower nicotine levels with the idea that when i do quit it will be easier having had lowered my daily nicotine usage. Switching to vaping alone is even hard, supposedly there are other constituents of tobacco smoke that make the cig nicotine even more addictive. The gum can be good if the patches don’t work for you. Good luck, its not easy to quit but you can do it!

Gum almost worked for me years ago but it began to irritat a filling a had. I switched to vaping and that worked but I am now addicted to vaping.

Though I don’t think it will be as hard to quit vaping as cigarettes I am on a low strength of nicotine and not all those chemicals in it.

Maybe try the gum.

I’ve tried them all.

Patches - effective, but can’t exercise.
Gum - effective, but if you don’t follow the “chew, park” method you will have an upset stomach
Lozenges - Far by the best, dissolves in your mouth within 30 minutes

I’m on lozenges now after 2 years of smoke free. I really need my nicotine, that’s why I still use them.

I personally don’t even want to quit nicotine as I think as a SZ it helps my concentration and symptoms. So I have to do harm minimisation and vape nicotine. I’ll probably do it forever. I don’t want to quit nicotine as it helps my brain.

My uncle smoked heavily for years. Like 2 packs a day for 40 years or something ridiculous. He tried almost everything without success, he was hypnotized, quit cold turkey, used patches ect. Nothing worked.

So he licked a dirty ashtray. And he puked for three days straight. And he never wanted a smoke again. Not even a craving.

@pamito I agree, it helps the brain and studies show this.
