Have your voices been in your voice or a voice you can make or a voice you cannot make?

I have only had voices for a total of maybe a couple of weeks since being diagnosed 2.5 years ago but they were in voices I could never mimic nor did they sound like my inner voice in any way. Just wondering what your experience has been.

@Logan,

My voices are similar my inner voice,
they keep saying bizarre things that I don’t want to hear (for example: religious things, sexual things, name calling, commenting my actions - this increased recently also - and sometimes I hear music or voices of famous people.)

It has been these crazy things for some years…

Sometimes I feel like my brain will explode someday. :cry:

Mine sounded like high Def movie voice-overs waay better sounding than I could ever imagine. No idea if you can ignore them to the point of disappearing. I tried to not use cognitive dissonance in my thinking and they went away. Could be mess helping, too. @Andy

@Logan,

It’s very difficult for me to ignore them.

Mine are other people talking. I can usually get the mean ones to go away - cast them out so to speak. Can’t ignore them and they are awake at night mostly so can’t sleep.

@mjgh06,

For how long do you hear voices?

I have heard them since I was young - a little starting around 11 then all the time by the time I was a teen. Maybe because my family were devout Christians or just because I feel they are spirits in limbo.

I have learned over the many years how to get rid of the mean ones. It hasn’t always been the same ones, I get new ones all the time. I figure those that leave got to move on.

I have studied all religions and most religions believe spirits walk the earth or stay in limbo for awhile. So I don’t consider it a delusion of mine. It just is what it is, and it doesn’t matter if others believe it or not. I know the truth and that is that.

I know there are probably those who hear themselves and those are delusions interacting with our minds. But mine are people with personalities and many are afraid of where they are or why I can hear them.

@mjgh06,

I think that most of the voices that I hear are demons that keep trying to disturb me.

Some voices, I think, it’s partly my own thoughts.

yeah had those - cast them out. Learned how to bless water at a Buddhist temple in Korea and from old Christian books when I was younger. I do blessings on my shower water all the time to keep them away.

I usually hear three voices. One of them is stolen from someone I actually met. One of the voices always want to hurt or kill me. The other two try and dissuade the other one from doing anything. That’s when I am pretty far from psychosis. As I get closer to psychosis the voices get meaner and more vicious. Also they increase in number. If I am on medication I occasionally hear them at a whisper. If I am off medication their range in volume increases as the medication wears off. When I was psychotic they were screaming at me so I couldn’t talk to people normally because I couldn’t hear them over the shouting.

They’ve been in both similar to my voice and ones totally different.

One voice “jesus or god” used to buzz a spot on the back left side of my head to let me know where they operated from. Yaaay brain… glad that doesn’t happen anymore

Mine are like telepathic voices to me from Jesus the Holy Ghost God Saten and angel demon or an intecessor of a person telepathically giving me voices of that persons consciuos to me.

Telapathic things telling me I have to focus on a certain person becuase that person is right and innocent and I get telepathic voices that seem to be from that certain person in that persons voice and mannerism.

Even if I want them to say one thing they will say something else. There isn’t any control over them like I can control my own inner voice. There can be interaction with them (queue delusions).

I have 12 main voices. It started as three but I keep getting more since three years ago. My newest one came a couple months ago, maybe four months. Only one of my voices sounds like me but she sounds exactly like me and says what I’m thinking out loud. All the others have their own unique voices.

I had eminems voice then he changed it to mine then fvcked off

I have two main voices. they tell me to kill myself, hurt myself, call me names, random gibberish. None of them have been in my voice.

I’ve heard the voice of my father who died in 1992. I’ve heard the voices, and seen the visions of him and my maternal grandmother who died years ago. But I also hear the voices of living people in telepathic battles with the unconscious minds of either my mother or my older brother where I hear their voices clearly. They say the wickedest things the way they did in real life when I was a kid and a teenager. Sometimes I hear strange voices and murmuring that I can;t identify too. Medication helps a lot with these phenomenon, but it still happens somewhat.

one time when i heard voices i heard a thousand different voices from every direction in an hour span. i certainly could not make most of those voices

i dont call them voices bc i believe it is just me talking to myself, it can be healthy like mine or it can be unhealthy and jumbled but my voice is clear and good so i dont worry so much.

I’ve often been asked if I recognise particular voices, and yes because I’ve heard them for so many years I recognise them to me. However no, they don’t mimic my voice or any voice of people that I know. I also can’t impersonate them (and from the content that they say I don’t think I’d want to either).
