Has anyone become a morning person?

APs as we all know can cause a ton of sedation. I’ve been dealing with 10-13 hours of sleep for years now. I wake up usually late afternoon and I’m sick of it, I feel like I have no time in the day for anything. When I force myself to get up early though, my mind is racing and voices are present. It’s not fun.

I think maybe if I force myself up for a month in a row or something, the same time, maybe I can readjust and just go to bed earlier.

Can anyone relate to this?

I’m up at 5 am these days so I can walk in the morning and then study before work. I try to be in bed by 10 pm most nights.

I became a night person. I don’t why and how, but can’t sleep in the night anymore.

I get 6-7 hours of sleep. Good energy all day. But I have an expensive regimen (only stimulant is caffeine but only because I don’t have decaf beans.)

I get up early so I can always get a morning shower.

I don’t really care. There are advantages to both scenarios.

No, but I should become one. Or at least work on getting up early.

if no work or forced activity, i can usually get up before 12 or 1.
you can force it if you create a rigid schedule. It probably won’t feel too nice, but you can probably get something going.

Yeah. I went from sleeping 10 hours a day to 8 or less simply by adding a lot of exercise. It’s hard but works. First thing is set an alarm. My alarm is for 5 am but I’m up most days before it. It doesn’t mean I may need a short nap during the day depending on what I’m doing but a 20 minute nap is better than 2 more hours of sleep.

I like mornings. It’s quiet where I’m at and I watch a lot of bad television and do exercise before my dad gets up. Honestly it’s hard but routine really serves my lifestyle and health well.

@LevelJ1 for sure. The only times I can get up is if I have to do something, doctor appoint etc. Just need to start a rigid schedule.

@rogueone That’s awesome. Good to know that it is possible. I’ve gotten my eating and diet right, so I don’t eat past 8:00pm anymore. Which has already helped a lot with not waking up so late. Need to exercise for sure.

My goal is to become a morning person. Whatever it takes.

I used to wake up at 8am on weekdays, only because I had to for work, but I’d be utterly exhausted and falling asleep at my desk. Nowadays, I wake up at 5:30am, sometimes earlier. I just can’t sleep. I used to be on Invega Sustenna and now I’m on Vraylar.

I’m up 5-7am, since last week. I was waking up in the evening for two weeks a couple of weeks ago.

The days are longer, and it feels healthier to be up early.

That’s awesome! Congrats. I hope I can make a big change like that too.

I used to sleep 3-4 hours per night every night while I was on Geodon and Latuda. Now that I am on Clozaril again I’ve been sleeping 10-12 hours per night. I try to go to sleep around 9pm so I can be awake and ready for work at 10am.

You should take your ap’s in the evening. Maybe you’re not taking them early enough. If you’re sleeping 12hours or so, take them about 12.5 hours before you want to get up. Eventually, you might start getting up earlier.

I take them at 7:00pm ever night. I’m just on the max dose of Seroquel now and it’s been a lot harder to get up.

Well, I would try taking them earlier, unless it’s because you like staying up late.

I gave up caffeine and became a morning person for about 6 weeks. I’m still off caffeine but now get up around noon.

It’s a good time for me to take them, It’s just my sleep schedule is messed up. Sleeping till 2:00pm makes me stay up later etc. So I’m forcing myself up at 10:00am with an alarm, no matter how tired, and plan on shutting all electronics off at 11:00pm and asleep by 12:00pm. So that’s still 10 hours of sleep which I think I need. After I’m good with that I’ll try waking up 1 hour earlier, then 2, etc.
