Hard time sleeping

im on Vistaril and doxepin, they seem not to work for me, do you know any other medications out there that would work or any other methods that i can do to help me sleep or supplemental i can take.

Melatonin made me sleep. Its a sleep supplement.

Ask you Dr if it interacts with your meds and don’t take more than the dosage on the bottle.

she recomment the medication to me, she knows all my medications so i think she know what interacts. I just dont know why it doesnt work for me, i also tried trazodone.

Avoid all naps during the day and use bed only when its sleep time. Choose a proper sleeping time at night and strictly bed be on bed during that time. Any naps you take during day will affect your ability to sleep at night. Also avoid caffeine and other stimulants as much as you can.

i dont take naps during the day at all, seqarual work for me but i had to stop because it made me gain lots of weight.

Ok do you have a fixed sleep time at night?

If not make one like 12 to 8.

I take Lunesta. It works well.

yea i sleep at 8pm every night takes me 1 hour to fall asleep but i wake up at midnight and takes me 30 minutes to go back to sleep then wake again couple hours and go back to sleep. I wish i can sleep throughout the night

thats the problem. so your fixed sleep time how much? anything above 9 hrs is counterproductive.

i probably sleep 6 hours a night, i wish i can sleep more.

I dont know how develop sleep problem, i never had in the past, could be the meds im taking thats messing with my brain chemistry.

sleep timing is very much important just like duration of sleep. i suggest you to change your current sleep timing. make it at least 11 pm and sleep till 7 am. it must also be continuous.you must be in bed all the time unless need to go to bathroom.

another thing to note is stick with the sleep schedule whether feel sleepy or not. go to bed strictly at that time and remain on bed till wake time arrives. set an alarm and only wake at that time. if not feel sleepy no problem just stay on bed it will eventually adjust. also not take nap during other times even if feel so tired and drowsy. it takes few days to correct.
