I just realized why it seemed like the food was no good. Mother was tasting food spoilage when there was nothing at all wrong with her food. So she really couldn’t encourage us to eat. It was confusing. Father ate with enthusiasm, hoping he would die of it, I think… Now, I have a tendency to be tasting things and am glad I live with people who can set me straight.
