What was the food like in hospital
The first time I went in the food was quite good. Nice dishes such as chicken pie plus plenty of choice of vegetables and mashed potato
When I went in a couple of years ago to a different hospital the food wasn’t as good but the desert could be nice fresh creamy gateaux, chocolate ring donuts and little pots of cheesecake
I’ve been in many hospitals some of them have amazing kitchens and some of them are horrible and you wouldn’t be able to guess the worst place I went to is the most expensive hospital I went to and one of the best ones was in Kona Hawaii
They would make homestyle chili with cornbread sometimes!
it was okay but we couldnt choose like in the psych ward in medical hospital. but it was the same seven meals maybe eight rotating. hopefully you got the cookie pie. thats was pretty good. birthdays you got the chocolate cake.
the ward compared to the hospital has quesadillas. bacon sausage and pancakes. burger and fries.
C’etais bonne, i loved their morning oatmeal, nice fresh fruits, sandwiches
Afternoon dishes were ok, decent but not great either like this rice and ravioli thing they had or pork cutlets…
The food was good. But I wasn’t used to eating at regular hours. We had breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner and coffee with dessert. It was too much!
I only eat three meals a day!
Depends on the hospital in the private hospital the food was wonderful but in the state hospital the food was gross and they barely feed you
I agree. State hospitals have the worst food. I have been to private hospitals as well and the food is better. At least the ones I went to.
In one small psyche ward I was in they had a chef come in and cook us meals from scratch. Good stuff like raviolis and crepes and waffles and steak and pudding and spaghetti dinners etc. It always struck me as weird that they went to all that trouble to feed us. It was great food, the best I ever ate in a hospital.
Psych ward food was always good.
Detox food was terrible probably bc they don’t want you coming back. I say detox bc for me that was another locked ward.
The food is hit and miss depends on where you go
The food was ok. Not great. I lost 25 pounds in 40 days in two hospitals. I remember eating though.
In Trinidad it is pretty ordinary. Your relatives are not allowed to bring any cooked food. Only packaged stuff. I dont know why.
Because of bugs
As someone who is struggling with money, I always liked any prepared meal.
In hospital never enough, only macaroni with cheese was avaliable endless.
The psych hospital I last stayed at was a run down hell hole but the only good thing about that place was the food.
It was really good!
Great cooks
I’ve only been once and it was in 2007, but both the private hospital and the state hospital I got transferred two fed the ■■■■ out of us. It was good food too.
The seventh day Adventist church hospitals have very good food. They are vegetarian but give patients chicken and beef, just no pork. I don’t ever want to go back though, I get worse there, no exercise and no privacy. I was over medicated too. The psych techs didn’t know how to handle rowdy people but to inject them with Ativan. What can you do for such people? They got mad at patients and made me feel like I was bad.
