It was the most disgusting stuff I have ever looked at or tasted. I almost threw up every time just looking at it. I’m surprised I actually thought that crap was good. I must have been really out of it.
What kind of food did you guys have in the hospital?
The hospital I went to had homecooked meals every day.
My only complaint is that they put parsley on everything. They spread it on the potatoes, between the meats, on top of the sauces, etc.
Did I mention I’ve only recently taught myself not to gag when I taste parsley?
On my 5th admission (to the same hospital) I sat next to the head pdoc of the place at lunch time.
Gobbling up my spaghetti sauce with the garlic toast I said to him,
“I only come in for the food.”
He looked at me sideways and said,
“That’s crazy!”
The place got sold a few months later and the kitchen turned ‘meatless,’
but it was still better than the one place that was so bad I refused to eat for 3 days. Didn’t think it was possible to screw up a hot dog, but they could.
That depends on the station here. In the closed station there was always really good food for lunch, there was even too much so that you could still eat at least two to three times. And every afternoon there were cakes and coffee.
The open section was about keeping weight or losing weight, so there was never such good food as on the closed ward.
Before Celiac the food wasn’t bad. The same hospital’s gluten free stuff was kind of nasty. Most of the food was still not so bad. I guess I should feel lucky. 10 years ago gluten free spaghetti and bread wouldn’t have been available at all, I think.
