What was some of guys experience with weight with Haldol? Switching to Haldol from Invega in hopes of weight loss. Let me know any experiences!

I get the haldol injection and invega pills. I’ve gained about 60 pounds.

I gained a ton on invega but only a little while on haldol. It makes it really hard to lose, though. Other than that, and having zero sex drive, I really like haldol. It’s my favorite AP and I’ll sing it’s praises forever because I’ve tried a dozen others with no luck.

The only experience I remember with Haldol was extremely bad akithesia all night long. I get really bad akithesia with all of the typicals.

I was totally miserable the whole time I was on Haldol. That drug made me feel flat bad.

I take Haldol in addition to Abilify, and I have had no weight gain, but I’m on a low dose of Haldol (2 mg twice a day).

It was horrific experience. It was my first psychosis and i attempted suicide, so they put me on high dose of haldol and prozac. I was asexual for one. My body was spasming uncontrollably and it was very unpleasant. 1 month of not being able to poop. The list goes on and on. Prolly a minority can really tollerate this drug.

For some people this drug is fine. It just goes to show how individually people react to medications.

I’ve been taking it for like a week and a half and so far no real bad side effects, I just want to lose weight!!

I gained 60 pounds on Invega, it might just be the Invega that did that

That’s so sad, no side effects for me yet. But the Invega made me asexual.

Well that’s good, hopefully the switch would help me lose a some weight compared to Invega chance of weight gain.

You didn’t lose weight when you switched to Haldol from Invega?

I haven’t had that side effect from either drug. The only side effect I ever experienced was weight problems.

No, but I stopped gaining. And I was on fluphenazine, geodon, and something else I can’t remember between the two.

I rather be heavy than go back on Haldol again.

I started haldol and gained 60 pounds. The doctor said it was rare.

I’ve been on .5mg of Haldol for 6 years. It helped me return to normal 90% and I moved outside of the US. I was able to do everything. Now it seems the Haldol is not working as well and some of my
symptoms are coming back. I moved up to 1mg daily. I’m scared about what will happen. It was so
great managing symptoms on .5mg of Haldol or less. I hope I can go back to that.

Is it possible that my body has gotten used to the Haldol and now needs more to have the same
effects. The Dr. said these meds don’t work like that. They aren’t like drugs or alcohol.

I’m on Haldol right now. It stops some of the mental traffic however the restlessness is pretty annoying for me. I’m trying to switch back to Latuda.
