My haldol wore off too. My dr raised my dose. Your taking a small dose. Don’t worry about taking more. It should help.
Haldol worked really well for me but it made me really restless so I had to come off of it. Btw I was on 30mg of haldol.
Haldol was my worst med. It sort of worked in the hospital? But when I got out, I hated myself.

How long does it take to feel normal after stopping it?
I took Haldol for a few months, I liked it but for some reason the pdocs wanted me off it - maybe because of my td, I don’t know. They said it had too many side effects, so they switched me and started me on Cogentin too. I really think my td bothers them, they don’t want to see it getting worse. Which I appreciate.

I didn’t gain any weight on haldol, but did have akathisia, for which I took cogentin.

I gained weight and kept the weight on with Risperdal pills. I lost 50 pounds when I switched to Risperdal Consta depot injections. And the injections helped with the constipation, lowered my prolactin levels and decreased my akithesia. The injections also worked much better on my psychosis.
I had the worst akithesia in the world with Haldol. It was so bad I couldn’t sleep at night. Up all night pacing the floor.
I have an update on haldol. I was on the injection but because of transportation issues I can’t go to that clinic anymore.
I’m at a new clinic here in town but still have to ride public transit Medicaid cab. Anyway I’m off the haldol and the doctor who did my intake interview said he cant believe in on so much meds including high doses of haldol and latuda. Anyway they checked my weight I haven’t lost any or gained since last weigh in at other clinic. They checked my blood sugar too that’s fine as well.

It made me agitated and akathisic yes. I had to stop it. But it was good for the weight.
Haldol (Haloperidol) was the first drug I used for Schizophrenia. In my case it was not effective so the doctor switched me to Risperidone instead. Haldol did not produce any side effects for me but I suffered from withdrawl symptoms like vomiting when stopping the drug.
Haldol was first drug used for sz. Caused such extreme sedation was practically comatosed!
Had to switch fairly quickly.
