Had my physical therapy evaluation today

For my lower hip and back pain.

He tried many things with me and said my answers were very consistent with where my trouble spots are.

He’s going to come up with exercises for me to start with him next week

He wants me to stop using the abductor and adductor machines at the gym until I’ve work with him a while.

He feels I need to be doing special exercises for a long time.

I wonder if that means on my own or in PT. I’m not sure.

Those machines should never be touched!

I had a very good experience with physical therapy for my back. I went to 23 sessions and it got me out of the house and around people and the actual exercises got rid of my pain for months. Even months later, my back is doing better than before I went to PT. Is your insurance paying for it? Did you look into that?

@77nick77 my insurance covers it but I have a $20 copay per visit.

The great news is I receive financial assistance from the hospital and it’s covered in full. Yay!!!

Whew, that’s lucky.

Yes, it really is. I don’t qualify at any of the other hospitals in my area except this one. I’m very grateful for the help.

Physical therapy is kind of fun. It’s like working out at the gym but probably not as hard.

Or harder lol! My last physical therapist worked me really hard when we were working on my ankle. It was crazy.

He did? The exercises with my physical therapist for my back weren’t hard at all. Really light weights and stretching exercises, a massage and they put these electrodes on my back for 15 minutes. Afterward I could tell I worked out but I was barely tired.

I was doing one legged leg presses etc that I thought were really hard

They might have been. I did two legged leg presses with light weights.

They increased the weight I did every time I went in. They really challenged me. It was probably really good for me though
