Physical Therapy not working

I’ve completed three weeks of physical therapy on my lower back, left hip and knee. It hasn’t helped much so far. My leg hurt walking a block to church. Friday I’ll have to walk six or seven blocks to vote early in the special election. After I found out about the election, it was to late to request an absentee ballot be mailed to me.
I’m scheduled for nine weeks of physical therapy, and I can barely afford the copays. My nurse practitioner said to try physical therapy first, and if that didn’t work, he would refer me to a hip specialist.

Do you have lower back pain?

I don’t really feel it in my back. The X-ray of my back shows severe degenerative changes with slight curvature of the spine. My nurse practitioner thinks my back is causing the pain in my hip. The hip X-ray shows mild osteoarthritis with a cyst in the joint space. This could cause pain. The knee X-ray shows moderate osteoarthritis.

Ah.

I was going to suggest Vitamin K2-MK7, it reduces my lower back pain by more than 80%. But you don’t appear to have any.

I feel for you. I too have hip pain but I haven’t been worked up for it yet so I don’t even know what’s going on. I’m sorry pt isn’t working for you. That must be frustrating to be spending the money for nothing. Sorry about the long trek for voting, can you take a taxi? bus?

I feel you on the PT copays making it nearly inaccessible. If you’ve showing willingness to try, I think that’s important. But don’t go broke if you can’t afford it. Just tell your doctor you tried it and it’s too expensive to continue and you would like to pursue seeing the specialist.

Though, if you can spare the money for the PT, definitely do that. But I don’t want you to feel like you have to not eat to afford it if that’s where you are.

I can just afford it. No extra money to pay down the credit card though.
