live in pos place with mouse problem and high winter heating costs, at least living independently or the alternative, move back in with mom and dad at their nice riverfront property. i am choosing to move back in with parents.
mom and dad both want to sell this place, they tell me to get it ready to sell, we used to live here together for a couple years but it wasn’t good enough for them and they built a new house across the street.
i liked it at first but now i hate the layout of the yard, making it difficult to get all the grass cut, some i have to weed eat. and also like i said the high heating costs.
mom and dad actually fixed it up compared to the previous owners and dad said he has some things planned to do for more improvements. the previous owner had carpet in the kitchen haha.
the plan is to live with mom and dad until they die and then move into subsidized housing i think. i won’t inherit their house, and i couldn’t afford it anyhow.
dad said he wants 100k for it, it’s nice lot out of flood plain, but it has some drawbacks, i don’t know if he’ll be able to get that or not, housing market around here is hot right now though.
i could see someone buying it, tearing down the trailer, and building a house, but not for 100k just to buy the lot i don’t think, he may have to take less, we will see.
no the trailer and couple acres of land. it’s also got a barn that is falling apart like everything else. actually the property is only appraised at 65k at the latest assessment, 45k for lot and trailer was only valued at 20k or so. we have had a couple interested parties in renting the place, but they are looking to sell it if they can.
