I like mom and dad's new house

was undecided at first but its starting to grow on me. could have up to 4 bedrooms. great views of the river valley. the only problem will be we may get water in the garage when the river floods.

the amish carpenters do good work. they are supposedly cheaper than union carpenters but they still aren’t cheap. they have drivers who drive them to and from work.

its not done yet, they have to finish the front porch, pour some concrete in the drive, build the back deck, and put in the fireplace. but things are moving along, other than the delays with the hvac.

another problem is all the steps, I worry mom and dad may sell the place when they get older and are unable to go up and down the steps. they both seem to think they’ll be fine though, we’ll see.

yeah I was thinking of moving to get away but I decided to stay. I have it pretty good here. even have my own home gym, which I bought and store in the barn.

Not where i live. A little further north i think they did. We got ice though. It sleeted all night and part of the morning. That’s typical for us. We get a lot of ice storms. Luckily the power didn’t go out here.

@Lifer You are not a loser. I am 35 and still live with my parents. We didn’t ask to have Schizophrenia.

I agree. 42, here, and still living with mom and dad. You’ll get your own place, don’t sweat it.

so basically the place is 3 floors. the garage under the main floor, the main floor with kitchen, bath, living area and 2 bedrooms, and then the unfinished upstairs with 2 bedrooms and a bath.

probably 3 weeks or so and I will have to help move furniture in. kind of dreading that part.

mansion! If I were you, I will live with parents, and rent out the 2 beds and 2 baths.

i wouldn’t mind living with them but they don’t want that. we’ve been cooped up together in limited space for the last 2 years. if i don’t live here they said they will sell the place. for now im just going to be renting, but i may end up owning it. although i’ll likely move away from Indiana when my parents die.

My dads cousin is 65 and lives with his parents. He pays rent though and helps them out.
