I taken my morning meds consistently for a week. I take a turmeric capsule vitamin now and my abilify. Is there any other vitamins/supplements I should be taking? My psychiatrist recommend vitamin D I am ordering it tonight as I just decided on one
I take a multivitamin because my diet is kind of bad, but most people don’t need one. Vit D is good. L-Theanine is a popular one here if you have anxiety issues.
Fish oil capsules are important.
I take prescription Vascepa - EPA fish oil capsules.
I take this. There’s a lot research on this with pubmed.
Vitamin supplementation, particularly with folic acid, vitamin B12 and vitamin D, may play an important role in the treatment of schizophrenia within certain subgroups. In those patients who are vitamin D deficient (darker skin, living at latitude with less sunlight)supplementation with vitamin D may be protective among those vulnerable to psychosis… Among those patients with specific genetic variants in the folate metabolic pathway, supplementation with both folate and vitamin B12 can be beneficial, especially in improving negative symptoms.
Vitamin B12 drove me a little crazy when I took it. It was early on when I tried it. Maybe I should try it again because I remember having more energy, plus my medication was well adjusted yet.
My thoughts are similar with medications I took decades ago. In kids there’s digestive issues with some of these meds like @SzAdmin pointed out maybe a year ago.
I think so. Also the doses were heavier then.
I can’t stress how much the lion’s mane mushroom supplement helped me. My dear and paranoia are gone it feels like. I’m also on APs.
Is this the only supplement you’re taking?
Yes. With my AP and AD.
High dose fish oil helps me.
You need about 1000mg EPA a day according to my pdoc.
I take it too, idk if it does anything
I receive my lion’s mane on Monday, hopefully it helps with positive!
