Geodon experience anyone?

I currently take a very low dose of Risperidone. I have tried taking more but it gave me really bad side effects. I am thinking of trying a new drug to get rid of my delusion. My pdoc said it is entirely up to me since I am not psychotic and I am functional so I am thinking of asking her to start me on a new drug to see if it can budge my delusion. I was going to ask her about Geodon since I gained weight on Risperidone and want to avoid gaining more. I tried Latuda last year and I didn’t sleep for a week.

What is your Geodon experience? results, side effects. Thank you

Been on and off geodon for ten years. It has the least side effects they say but they’re still there. If you take too much you get restless. It’s an ok med

My big challenge with Risperidone is that too much makes me restless. I hate that feeling

I took geodon 80 and it was manageable although once had to go to 160 and had the worst akithesia it was punishment

Latuda is a better med

I tried Latuda and couldn’t sleep at all. Like zero sleep for days. I had to wait for it to leave my system. Frankly, I am scared to try any new med but my delusion is like an OCD. I need to get it on a back burner

Whatever works. I hated risperdal so anything you take should be a step up from that one

Geodon is weight neutral and works well on my psychosis and hallucinations but I still have my delusions. Nothing seems to make them go away. I actually lost weight on Geodon and Wellbutrin.

I take the maximum dose recommended. 80 mg in the morning and 80 mg at night. I got some fainting getting out of bed with it. Lie in bed a few minutes after I wake up and it doesn’t happen anymore. It gives me tremors in my hands but two Benedryl a day knocks those out.

I currently take Latuda too but I am in the process of coming off of it.

Geodon and Seroquel have given me a quality of life I didn’t think was possible to me anymore. I’ve taken Geodon 80 x 2 daily and Seroquel 400 x 2 daily for over a decade. Some people find Seroquel too sedating, but I don’t really notice it. I don’t know if it has any effect on me or not. Geodon has controlled my symptoms with the fewest side effects of any drug I have ever taken. I didn’t gain weight on either drug.
