Geodon dosage

What’s the equivalent Geodon dose of 4-5mg Risperdal? Latuda was too weak for me I had positive symptoms even on 120mg.

Abilify I was stable on 20-25mg.

Hmm Geodon is 13% less effective than Abilify and 36% less effective than Risperdal according to studies cited in Wikipedia. Uugh Idk how to calculate a stable dose of Geodon for me. I don’t want risk in taking it.

I’m sure your doctor will help you sort it out.

Did you try Geodon?

No I haven’t, I’m kind of scared to try it because of the potential cardiac issues.

A lot of people do well on Geodon though

True maybe that’s why my pdr never prescribed it. I have tried most meds available in Canada except Geodon. Also I just calculated the equivalent dosage is 70mg which is very close to the max dose so I will probably have side effects.

I switched from 1 mg risperidone to 40 mg geodon in the beginning.

If Vraylar doesn’t come out by Jan 2021 Ill take the risk of trying Geodon.

You’re stable on 40mg Geodon and 1mg Risperidone?

That was 7 years ago. I am on 80 mg now because I tried to go off meds and now I need double

Can they prescribe over 80mg? I hope 80mg is enough for me…

I believe max dose is 160. I was on that for a while to stabilize.

Are you sure? Here they say do not exceed 80mg. If there is over 80mg that’s good news.

that says 80 mg per 12 hours. The 160 dose is split into 80 twice a day.

Oh so you take 80mg at 8am and 80mg at 8pm. Thanks!

Exactly. I currently take 20 in the morning and 60 in the evening, though.
