Feeling very aggressive

I think the abilify anxiety has finally reached a tipping point,

Now I’m just feeling overly aggressive.

Violent.

Even here, on the forum,

I’m just waiting for someone to post something half way offensive so I can just tear into them.

I want to go out and get a drink at the local biker bar,

But I’m still sane enough to know that’s a bad plan.

What do I do with all this anxious, angry energy?

I’m sick of cleaning, my regular go to,

I want a fight.

This isn’t me, I need a medication change but I’m afraid they’ll switch me to something that’ll make me fatter.

Has anyone overcome a similar problem?

Advice?

Best thing I found for it is listening to really loud crazy music and sort of just letting myself blast all that anger and restlessness through it. Somehow at the end of this I usually end up exhausted. Sometimes I even end up crying (cathartically, not in a bad way). I dunno maybe it could help you.

Thanks, @Anna,

That’s a good idea.

Well that is a familiar feeling maybe take some competitive sports classes (that have win/loss factor) just my idea maybe not appropriate in your situation

I kinda understand this feeling, I’m overly energised and it’s so easy for it to tip into aggressiveness and rage, I too have those thoughts that I want someone to piss me off so I have an excuse to kick their head in. My best advice is to get your psych doctor to prescribe you some sort of benzo ie diazepam or lorazepam… it really helps chill me out and get rid of the anxiety and aggressiveness… It might be time to try a more sedating AP though, many, but not all of them cause weight gain. It really sucks changing meds though, I know. I hope you can find a solution.

You’re not allergic to gluten are you? I would look into that. It can cause swelling and inflammation in the body and brain which can restrict your breathing, induce hallucinations, and tempt you to eat excessively which will always lead to anger

No,

I don’t have celiac disease or anything,

So I eat a regular diet.

Gluten allergy is pretty rare,

But I’ll ask my doctor about it just in case.

@GoldenRex, I just want to say that I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. You’ve always been so kind.
I have rage issues and anxiety just naturally (that sounds funny). So talking out my thoughts or writing helps me. I haven’t painted in awhile but that used to help a lot too.
I hope you find your good and healthy answer. You don’t deserve to suffer.

I used to get this during puberty. It helped me to start a fire in the fire pit, and burn things, especially things that made me angry. Old homework assignments, tests I did poorly on, pictures of people who were mean to me. Even just burning regular firewood was very calming and satisfying.

I just pictured myself during a mixed episode struggling with agitation and extreme aggressive feelings and I remember I had to pace around to burn it off. There wasn’t anything else I could do. I got through it. So maybe something physical like pacing or jogging in place. If I had it now I would get on my exercise bike and go as hard as I could in the shape I’m in.

You might be getting irritable manic. I would talk it over with your pdoc.

It’s really simple actually lol.

Intemperance leads to> Lust leads to > Greed> Anger > sloth >envy (or sadness at another’s good) > pride

Intemperance or gluttony is essentially taking too much or too little food, at wrong times, etc. Just google how to overcome intemperance (not only in use of food but also of clothing, sleep, cigarettes etc) and if you can get balance in the body you’re one step closer to overcoming anger. We all deal with these same temptations man! There’s obviously a genetic component as well with the illness but through proper healthy doctor recommended doses (yes food should be carefully dosed as a medicine  ) you are guaranteed as surely as there is a God that you will be healed of at least somewhat of your troubles

Abilify didn’t make me violent, but it did amp me up pretty good. I actually got an increase in physical strength from Abilify. I’m think that maybe you should talk to a therapist pretty quickly. Let them know that Abilify is giving you violent impulses.
