Feeling better now that I took Iti-007 / Lumateperone

More of the side effect hype I fell for.

All meds have side effects.
Unfortunately

I am interested in hearing the trial results. I hope I can try the med some day.

@Saywhaat ,

How are you so sure you’re not taking a placebo?

Yeah, if aspirin were invented today it would never be approved, or for sure it would not be OTC.

Why?

I am sure because it is a controlled study where no placebos are being administered.

Reye’s syndrome and gastric ulcers.

It’s gotten a lot harder to get drugs approved, particularly OTC. But aspirin has been around a looong time.

Since aspirin is usually used for mild pain, the FDA probably wouldn’t see it as worth the risks.

But they might approve of it as a blood thinner, because more risk would be acceptable to treat more serious health problems.

I do read the mainstream articles, but the studies are really the ones with the real info. There have always been side effects reported, but it’s the ones that haven’t been reported that are significant: no changes in blood sugar, prolactin, weight gain, no involuntary movements.

Eta: haven’t seen anything on joint or muscle pain.

@Saywhaat ,

Looking back on my question I apologize for asking it.

I hope this medication helps with negative and cognitive symptoms.

Please keep us informed.

That’s alright. You just asked a question, don’t beat yourself up about it. And I hope so as well. I did get threw an entire chapter of my school book in one sitting today. Not sure if it was the med or just good luck but I haven’t been able to do that since I started school.

@Saywhaat ,

That’s good news.

I haven’t been able to read an entire book in years. Not sure if it’s technology, me, or both, but my attention span has decreased a lot.

Mine is awful. I use to be able to read so well. I finished the entire twilight series in one day. Since my diagnosis I have not even finished one book. Which is odd because reading is something I use to really enjoy.

I may be wrong but can’t you develop a tolerance to a controlled substance?

What do you mean by controlled substance? Iti-007 is an antipsychotic.

This link should have company’s Jan.8 corporate presentation for download, if it was not posted before.

Interesting… they must have multiple arms of the Phase 3 trial going on - some without controls. The drug seems pretty close to release:

Once it’s on the market, how long until it’s covered by insurance?

Looking forward to see how you go on this! Sounds like a lot on your plate at the moment from some other posts so hang in there and hope you sort it all out!
