For the past many months I’ve been having mostly 1 meal a day, which is dinner at around 6-9pm.
I haven’t gained weight. In fact, I’m slowly losing.
But when I was in the hospital I ate 3 meals a day and gained what I think is a lot of weight.
Would only eating 1 meal a day count as fasting? And would it be considered unhealthy to go hungry an entire day for the sole purpose of losing weight?
I really want to eat more, but I’ve finally got below 100kg, and I want to get down to 75 (even though my friend thinks 75 would be too thin and recommends 85)
As a general rule, people need a minimum of 1,200 calories daily to stay healthy. People who have a strenuous fitness routine or perform many daily activities need more calories . If you have reduced your calorie intake below 1,200 calories a day , you could be hurting your body in addition to your weight-loss plans.
from personal experience the best key to loosing weight is to watch what you eat but also how much. my father used to be dangerously overweight and he lost weight quite quickly after he dropped breads and sugars from his diet, he also had a trick where he would only eat food in small portions, he would fill a small bowl with food and when he was done if he still had hunger pains he would get another. eating in controlled portions helped him realize when he was actually full, versus eating one or two large meals and just finishing an entire big plate. he was still able to eat 3 meals a day that way. add regular exercise ontop of that and youll probably be able to maintain a good weight.
