Experience with seroquel (quetiapine)?

I am beginning a dose of 25-50mg for insomnia tonight, I know not to take a large dose because that would interact with the Geodon and mess with my heartbeat. I am unlikely to experience major side effects on this low of an adjunct dose to my three meds, but hey four heavy downers is serious.

I would like to hear experiences with the med and some tips if you have anything to share

thanks

I’ve been on 400 X 2 Seroquel with 80 X 2 Geodon for over a decade. I don’t really feel the Seroquel. I have been noticing a few mild pains in my heart - not serious, but noticable.

Many who just begin seroquel have hallucinations increase for the first couple of nights. This may not happen to you, but it did me. The sleep obtained from it is usually very deep. Also, I felt a refreshing sense of peace at first. It will relax you. All of these things may be dose dependent, but these were my observations.

Would that even touch the sides?

I was on 600mg it made me drowsy and very thirsty!

I had a bad reaction to seroquel as mono therapy. I went absolutely bananas on it and it nearly killed me.

I started quetiapine for sleep problems. It worked great for that.

Hi mouse good to see you drop by your pic shows you looking good.

I’ve taken 400 mg nightly for >10 years. All at night. It’s sedating and used to knock me out like a rock which I actually enjoyed after a stressful day. I also had a trazadone chaser due to nightmares.

Seroquel can make you sleep so deep you have very vivid nightmares. But these passed away and now I’m just pretty stable working full time.

I think it has 6 hour half life so I would get cranky in the evening. I think that’s why they invented XR so it lasts all day.

It can made you pretty sleepy as a daytime dose so take it all at night. But during relapses daytime doses can be comforting.

Good luck as your body gets used to it the sleepiness may wear off.

Any update on the seroquel @mortimermouse? First night went ok?

Couldn’t take it because it is a no no with Geodon

It will make you extremely sleepy for 1-2 weeks then the sedation will wear off Many people Like Seroquel Because it Causes Less Eps ( Movement Side effects) Than Risperdal & doesn’t Elevate prolactin Levels like risperdal does
