Excessive sweating

Recently, I joined a muay thai class and noticed I was the first person to sweat a whole lot of drip from my face and body. It’s pretty embarassing and I wonder if it’s because of my medication that plays a part from it or genetics.

I read about hyperhidrosis and it’s treatment but most of them are for underarms, palms and feet. Not really for the general body and face. I was thinking if any of you go through the same condition as me.

When I practice playing footy(futsal football) in my backyard, 10 minutes in–and im sweating a whole lot. I really like to exercise and would like to join a group. But ill feel embarrassed and think people wouldn’t like me to drip on their mats and gym excessively.

If you know any treatment, please do share. I’ll even consider surgery. But would like to know what type i should undergo first. P/S: Went to a doctor, and even he was a bit baffled. Thanks.

Always worth checking in with a normal doctor! I’m old enough where yearly bloodwork isn’t an odd thing it’s necessary. If your young enough…check in with a normal doctor. There’s specialists for everything these days but they all start at your regular gp.

Last summer I took my first jujitsu class and did the same thing lol. I just walked in to ask about it in basketball shorts and a tank top, the instructor said come on try we have a class about to start…

All the students had rash guards and underarmor on and barely sweat. At the end of the class I left a big pool of sweat on the mat and was soaked. No one really cared it was expected. I wouldn’t let that hold you back at all, when I skate I do the same thing. Sweat alot from my head, if I didn’t then I would start worring :grinning:

Yeah, I went to a GP nearby my town. He was also a specialist in dermatology, yet even he was clueless and suggested a surgery near the chest area. I wasn’t really convinced. Maybe I’ll ask a second opinion, or third, and seek my paychiatrist’s advice when I see him.

Are u high functioning @paingain… u work right…!!

Lol. Exactly like your situation. When we were doing stretches, I was moisturizing the floor, and didn’t want people to see it. So i wiped the floor with my ass before people noticed it.

Lol, maybe i should get this while exercising, and tell people It’s for the better good for the gym!!!..

I wouldn’t consider any surgery…everyone sweats and those kinds of activities will have any normal person sweating alot until you’ve adapted to the exercise. Do you have a lot of extra weight on you?

lmao yes! That’s awesome I’d sport one of those😂

I have the same problem. Believe it or not it’s more likely your cardio that is not up to snuff. When I first started walking 8k walks I would be pouring. Now I’m fine the whole walk. Although I have known people who don’t sweat at all under any circumstances.

I have the same problem. I think it is largely due to caffeine, alcohol, sugar, and the med’s. From what I’ve heard about it, excessive sweating isn’t something to become alarmed about. It’s when you stop sweating that the doctor gets worried.

Laughing out loud!! The sweating with this drug is incredible. Take a shower and you are sweating profusely
Three mood medications and anxiety/sleep medications do not make you sleep…maybe I am still in mania.

I used to sweat profusely from my forehead, and it turned out to be a side effect of Effexor. I no longer take Effexor, and I no longer have that problem.

I think keeping cool with your emotions can play apart with controlling the amount of sweat as well. If we are angry, nervous, or want to break something… it can really heat up the human body system. I’m learning how to control my anger, with this really messed up universe Hahaha. I felt really cool when I let the negative people out and introduce what is good to within.
