Excessive Sweating

I am thinking my meds are causing excessive sweating. I thought it was just part of perimenopausal issues at first but I sweat so much and from everywhere.

So I looked it up and found that both Abilify and fluoxetine can cause excessive sweating. So can a number of other APs.

Anyone else, here, have this? Anyone have any suggestions for making it more bearable?

I’ve seen a post about this before. Try the search engine on the site! May give you an idea!

I sweat a lot. When I work other people will be dry and comfortable, but I will soak my shirt. I think in my case it is mostly due to coffee, but there are other things. It’s been nineteen months since I last drank, but I still think the alcohol helped me get this way about sweating. The med’s I take probably played a role too. Doctors say don’t worry if you sweat excessively. It’s when you stop sweating that the doctor gets worried.

@Val

Excessive sweating is called hyperhiorosis.

I read that taking anticholinergics can help (such as Cogentin (Benztropine)). Also, use antiperspirant, not deodorant. Spray the antiperspirant on your skin before going to bed.

I sweat a lot these days, never used to…
I can’t stand tight clothes, shoes, or heavy materials either.
I keep those heavy cardstock snail mail advertisers that fill up my mailbox on hand for an instant fan.

I got hot flashes and sweating from steroids. What I did was start by taking a cool shower. The I’d put an ice pack on the back of my neck for a little bit, then the top of my head, and then my chest. That would get me to cool down.

Yeah bro hahahahhaah, I constantly sweat if i stay still for too long.

I don’t take those meds and my face sweats horribly since last year. Was thinking perimenopause. My cycle is screwed up, too, though
