Oh, how each and every muscle in my entire body ached for days, and the nightmares of shocks enveloped me.

I don’t remember the actual process or the actual ect I was in an amnesia fugue at the time.

The author supports the use of ECT. My personal experience of it was 3 courses between 1975-1978, during which time I had a schizophrenia diagnosis. I can’t say it helped much. The worst effect was on memory, especially with the first course soon after I had left public school. It wiped what I had been learning for A levels clean out of my mind. My memory of just before and after that time is quite fuzzy.

What about TMS? Trans-cranial magnetic stimulation? I want to try that.
