Does your imagination ever become paranoia?

Just curious if you guys have ever had this? When your thoughts/imagination causes “paranoia”. For example I get afraid my food is spat in when i go thru a drive thru for food. Have you ever had anything like this? Would you trust your paranoia or say it’s complete ■■■■■■■■?

I let such thoughts go. I am 52. I’ve been living with paranoia most of my life so with meds it’s easier to let go. It’s something you keep on top of with medications and sometimes you need to go up and when it’s good you need to come down.

I’m sorry your experiencing this but chat to your doc.

Welcome back!

I struggle with that too. I’m trying with my pdoc to get my meds right. It sucks.

I hope you find the right med(s) and coping skills and stop feeling paranoid soon

Yes I can identify with this type of paranoia

In my last psychosis I was thinking what if my perception of reality during the episode became objective reality? But I just don’t understand how that could be I don’t know.

What I did realise from my past experiences, though is that through fear and exhaustion, it can have serious psychosomatic effects on me which ARE objectively real, such as I lost weight very quick, such as my memory got worst, such as I was very sleep deprived, such as I made myself at risk to HIV And who knows what else, through unprotective sex with strangers at midnight in a park because the voices pressured me to.

I’m not sure if I understand your question correctly but this is my best way to respond.

Yes, I have such “voices”/“thoughts” (would be great to know the difference between voices and thoughts)…I have voices/thoughts that “did I put the cigarette out after smoking”/“did I turn of the light”/"did the vendor give me the quantity of items I had bought or should I count them…

I have this as well. It’s a pain in the behind.

Sounds like paranoia to me. I think most fast food workers are too busy doing their job and more worried about getting paid to bother spitting in your food.

Probably so, just a pain when trying to find somewhere to eat and constantly worried if your food is being tampered with

If you’re in the US there are some places like Chipotle or Subway where they make your food in front of you. Maybe that would help?
